Texans vs Patriots Preview

The Houston Texans escaped a 19-13 win over the hot Cincinnati Bengals on Saturday afternoon. Now the Texans are looking to redeem themselves as they have to go to the New England Patriots, who already destroyed them in Foxborough on MNF several weeks back 42-14.

Keys to Patriots win:
The Patriots, in my personal opinion, are the best team in the AFC. The Patriots demoralized the Texans in every phase of the game several weeks ago. For the Patriots to win this game they have to do everything they did in the first meeting and pull out those plays into this game. Tom Brady made the Houston D look really bad and ncapable of winning the big game. Tom Brady will lead this team to another AFC title chance if they just do everything they did the first time. There is really nothing I can say other than that because that was the perfect game for New England, so we will find out if this New England team can do it again in Foxborough. That is the other thing, you have home-field this game, take advantage of it. As long as everything happens the way it did several weeks ago, its a guaranteed Pats’ victory!

Keys to Patriots’ win:
1. Opening up running game with short throw.

2. Getting Steven Ridley hot.

3. Tom Brady= 1 or less turnovers.

4. Taking advantage of Kareem Jackson’s aggressive cornerback play with deep routes agianst Texan’s man coverage.

5. Stacking eight men in the box addressing the run game and keeping Arian Foster under 100 yards.

6. Get into Schaub’s head.

The Texans need to get to Tom Brady and pressure him and not allow Brady to have time in the pocket. Secondary must make plays in order to win this football game. In the first game Brandon Harris was caught holding a receiver on third down, and that pentalty gave the Patriots a first down and made the drive end in a touchdown instead of field goal. Little Kindgarten errors will kill Houston! They must do everything and anything to make sure that Tom Brady is kept in check becuase the last thing fans or the players want is another blow out. No Kindergarten penalties and no big plays will help Houston boost past this team. My biggest point of all this is to keep Brady from making big plays and getting the Houston D off the field. Time of possession must be won by Houston and the defense must do their job in order for an AFC title to be within their grasp.

Keys to Texans’ redemption:
1. No Turnovers

2. Play Action passing.

3. No sacks= no third and longs.

4. Cut Arian Foster loose.

5. Defense must not give up deep plays!

6. Pressure Brady!
